Polina Plotnikova – Flowers

“ Creating artistic, inspiring, contemporary images.”
Polina is a Russian-born UK-based photographer, whose distinctive and much-admired photographic style developed through her love and knowledge of art. Her view is that modern technology equips you with some amazing tools that the artists of the past could never have dreamed of. But the modern photographer's primary task is essentially the same as theirs: to draw the viewer in, so that they can share your vision and tune into the emotions that you are trying to convey.
The approach to flower photography Polina will take at EXPO 2017 is somewhat similar to that of a portrait photographer - for every flower and plant she photographs, she always tries to find its unique look, studying its mood and character, and ultimately unlocking its hidden beauty. While appreciating the natural beauty of plants and trying to stay true to their original form, she will not limit her point of view to the purely botanical. Instead, she will try to lift the flower out of its typical setting and put it into an indeterminate space, where its beauty can be seen purely.
Come and join us on 23rd September 2017 at The Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport to experience Polina's  approach to flower photography hands-on  and  enjoy the  other inspirational talks at DIG Expo whilst you are with us.
